Burris Binoculars & Scopes
Burris Binoculars and Scopes - Designed By, Made By,
and Used By American Sportsmen Like You
Selecting Rifle Scopes or Binoculars
in today's busy world, often times too many options
creates confusion and frustration when trying to make
a buying decision. Rest assured that no matter which
Burris binoculars
or scope you select, it will provide
you a lifetime of dependable high performance.
Of paramount importance to our success, and the quality
and performance of Burris products,
is our use of these products. We don't just sell them,
we truly understand the purpose, application, and need-for-dependability
of scopes, mounting systems,
binoculars and spotting scopes.
From engineering to production to sales and marketing,
Burris is chock-full of demanding sportsmen.
It's a good recipe for quality when personnel use and
depend on the products they design and build.
Nothing To Design
Focused exclusively in the premium categories, many
premium features are common throughout the entire Burris
offering:
- Ultra-pure premium grades of glass made right. Many
of our lenses are ground and polished to within a
couple of millionths of an inch of perfection. It
does cost more, but the results when looking through
Burris Scopes or Burris Binoculars
are astounding.
- Every lens in every scope is HiLume® multi-chemical
multicoated to transmit the maximum brightness.
- Every scope features a hard-anodized exterior finish
(excepting Mr. T which is a nitride coating). Most
others won't tell you and some don't even know if
they are selling soft-anodize or hard-anodize.
- Scopes must take extreme jarring and intense vibration,
and still maintain point of impact integrity. That's
why our outer tubes are stronger than most and also
why several other solid features are common to all
Burris scopes.

- Double internal springs are standard on all Burris
scopes
- All Burris adjustment systems are
positive, repeatable, steel-on-steel, audible clicks.
- Moving internal parts are precision gauged and hand-fitted
to a perfect-as-possible fit to withstand years of
abuse without failure.
- Burris uses specially-made quad
seals to provide double-insurance against leakage.
- Each scope is filled and purged at least 24 times
with laboratory grade dry nitrogen. Once this is done,
not one hint of moisture is left in the scope and
not one hint of nitrogen can leak out or air get in.
- Every single scope is individually tested to try
to get it to leak. If there is a leak, the scope gets
fixed and resubmitted to the tests, or torn down for
salvage. All of these processes are done in-house
so we have 100% control of these vital steps.
- Every single rifle and handgun scope is warranted
forever.
Burris - An Innovative Company
The World's First and Only Fully Titanium
Riflescope
Beyond the whole scope tube and eyepiece being made
of solid titanium, each scope is coated with titanium
nitride, titanium aluminum nitride, or chrome nitride,
depending on the color. These nitrides are molecularly
bonded to the titanium through high intensity physical
vapor deposition for maximum adhesion that will not
blister, flake, or chip.. The result is an ultra-hard
corrosion proof surface.
The World's First and Only Scratch-Proof Lenses
We call them T-Plated Lenses on the Mr. T Titanium
scope. These lenses do not come with the warning of
other "scratch-resistant" coatings about removing
all dust before cleaning. T-plated lenses do not require
a "soft clean lens cloth." Ordinary dirt,
dust, and grit won't bother them a bit.
Not only is T-Plate durable, but it is ultra-smooth
also, which facilitates water beading and sheeting.
Although it is not magical, it does make for a better
sight picture when snow or rain insists on decorating
your lenses.
Posi-Lock®Internally
adjustable scopes have always relied on a spring to
allow adjustment while holding the adjustments accurately.
Burris uses two springs to double-up the force that
keeps you on target. Thinking beyond this obvious tactic,
we took it a step further and invented and patented
the Posi-Lock system. Posi-Lock is a coil-spring-assisted
retractable steel post that firmly, assuredly, locks
your accuracy in place. After all, once you sight in
you expect your scope to stay put. It's gratifying to
hear back from so many customers that their Posi-Lock
scope remains perfectly zeroed year to year. Premium
riflescope companies, including Burris,
often get fixated on optical quality -- as we should.
However, some can lose sight of what it is that we are
really after in a rifle scope, which
is to aim. Below are three Burris
innovations which help you do just that.
The World's Simplest Trajectory Compensating Reticle
The new Ballistic Plex reticle for Fullfield
II riflescopes is a very clean and simple
way to improve long range marksmanship. The lower crosshair
incorporates small ballistic lines that compensate for
bullet drop from 100 yards to 500 yards for most hunting
cartridges. Simply sight-in at 100 or 200 yards, using
the highest magnification. Determine the range to a
more distant target and select the corresponding ballistic
line. It is a lot easier, more accurate, and confidence-building
than any alternative method of shooting long distances.
Available on 3X-9X, 3.5X-10X, and 4.5X-14X Fullfield
II scopes, and 3X-9X-40mm Signature
Series scope.

Ballistic Plex for Handgun Scopes
The new Ballistic Plex reticle now is specially formulated
to assist handgunners with their unique challenge associated
with more lofty trajectories. Because of a much more
complex set of variables for the huge range of handgun
cartridges from the .223 to the .375 JDJ, and from 4"
barrels to 16" barrels, space in this catalog can
hardly begin to illustrate the myriad of methods to
utilize this very handy feature. The charts at right
illustrate two examples on opposite ends of the spectrum
how the Ballistic Plex can facilitate maximum accuracy
over the practical range of various cartridges. Many
additional examples can be viewed at www.burrisoptics.com,
or you can call or write to us to send you a comprehensive
instruction set.

Long Range Can Be So Rewarding - And Possible with
the Ballistic Mil-Dot
The Ballistic Mil-Dot Reticle for higher magnification
scopes is a combination of a standard Mil-Dot and a
special Burris design on the lower
vertical crosshair that automatically compensates for
bullet drop. The Ballistic Mil-Dot is set to provide
dead-on aiming from 100 yards to 600 yards (and possibly
700 yards) for many of today's flat shooting rifle cartridges.
The other three Mil-Dot sections can be used to determine
distance and help compensate for wind drift. The power
ring has a calibration mark set at roughly 14 power
which provides the trajectory compensation as shown
in the table. Customization is possible by altering
the magnification and making your own calibration mark.
Available in 6.5X-20X Fullfield II,
and 4X-16X, 6X-24X, 8X-32X Signature Series
and Black Diamond Scopes.

The World's Finest Low Light Reticle - Electro-Dot®
Game animals spotted in low light or back-lit situations
have always plagued riflescopes with black crosshairs.
That is, until the debut of Burris Electro-Dot a few
years ago. The challenge was to provide an electronically
lit pinpoint aiming spot to the center of the crosshair
without degrading the optical quality. Generally speaking,
any light allowed into a scope other than the light
comprising the field-of-view is bad light which degrades
the optical image. Burris succeeded
by "piping" a tiny amount of light to the
center of the reticle via a fiber optic strand that
is half the thickness of a piece of paper. The result
is a durable and dependable riflescope which allows
you to properly aim at any color target under any lighting
conditions. Now that's a real advantage for the hunter
who puts his heart and soul into his hunt.

Delivering Performance You can expect a lot more
from a home-grown company that specializes in and participates
in the shooting sports. Participation in and striving
for the ultimate in-the-field and on-the-range experiences
breeds innovation in the search for excellence. Below
are a couple of additional inventions from Burris
that take the shooter a bit further and allows a more
enjoyable and affirming experience. The World's
First and Only Internally Adjustable Diaphragm - Light
Collector®
Burris adapted camera adjustable aperture
control to provide light management benefits to riflescopes.
We call it Light.
Collector ®.It allows maximum light in low light
conditions, and can limit the light in bright daylight
to enhance image sharpness, contrast, and depth of focus.
It's available on 4X-16X, 6X-24X, and 8X-32X Signature

The Worlds Most Advanced Scope
Mounting Systems - Zee Rings, Signature
Rings®
Burris
Zee Rings, with no moving parts, are the best
fitting and most positive gripping Weaver®-style
ring made.
Signature Rings are the most significant
technological advancement in scope mounting history.
The pivoting synthetic inserts result in tremendous
gripping power, scratch-free and stress-free mounting,
consistent accuracy, and scope value preservation.
Signature
Rings accept Pos-Align® Offset Inserts so
you can virtually sight-in your gun without moving
the scope adjustments. Lens systems perform at
their optimum when all lenses are optically centered.
The offset inserts also correct any mis-alignment
caused by receiver holes drilled off center, or
the bases or rings being slightly off perfect
center. |
